YEAR
6
Last Wednesday night was the
turn of the Primary Year 6 students to celebrate their movement from
Primary to the
Secondary Department. The celebration took the form of a splendid
graduation ceremony before many admiring parents, relatives and
friends. After a welcoming address from Madame Chantal Al Gharabally
(School Director) in which she stressed the importance of a good
education at all stages of a pupil’s academic life, the evening was
split into two main parts. First of all there were a
number of musicals performed by Years 3, 4 and 5.
This was followed by the ceremonial entrance of the graduate class
into the school theatre. The Graduate Graduands swore colourful academic
attire as they took proudly took their places at the front of the
stage. Mr Gharabally Al Gharabally (School Chairman)
was introduced to all present, the Graduands came up to the stage
and were presented with their awards as their individual
achievements were read out to the admiring audience. When the
presentations were over, the graduates stepped forward and together
gave a rendering of the famous graduation song ‘One More Step Along
The Way We Go’. The graduates finished their singing to a tremendous
round of applause from the audience and responded with the
traditional tossing of their academic headgear into the air. The
evening ended with light refreshments for all as the graduates posed
for photographs with their proud parents, family members and
friends.
