As the Head teacher I am delighted to welcome you to the Junior School section of the web site.  I am very happy to work with the children and staff of this outstanding school.  I think of it as an English school with an International flavor.  This flavor is enhanced by our improved access to the ‘world wide web’, through the purchase of new computing facilities that include a new Junior ICT Suite, a school intranet and projectors in all class rooms. 

Our small class sizes and experienced staff ensure both able and less able children can learn at their own pace.   I have enjoyed getting to know many of the parents, who have been very supportive and often come forward with useful suggestions. 

Travelling to school for the children is made easy with mini buses picking up from a wide range of areas across the city. The light and spacious environment of the school buildings includes large shaded areas for play and sports, including an Olympic sized pool and a very large gymnasium.  This, along with our excellent staff, help our children to develop a broad range of life skills: high aspirations; confidence; independence; self-motivation; cultural awareness; respect for others; a wide variety of interests; sporting skills; social skills; common courtesies; team working and leadership skills. 

These are all integral parts of educating the whole person (the mind, body and spirit) and fundamental to the KNES ethos.  This was reflected in the outcome of a recent visit from CIS.  The Council of International Schools (CIS), commended KNES on its, “excellence” in their 2010 report.
