Year 5 and 6 visited the Discovery Centre on 30th October 2011. The purpose of the visit was to reinforce some of the Science topics being studied this year, including forces, magnetism and electricity. The students enjoyed the interactive activities and learnt from being able to experiment with the different practical equipment. One of0 the year 6 students said that it was so much easier to understand the laws of gravity when you see the marble rolling down the black hole and gaining speed as it travelled down! The students enjoyed racing each other in the cars and trying to change a wheel of a formula 1 car! The highlight of the trip was a visit to the Star Gallery, where the students were able to learn about the formation of the different stars in the sky at night.
