Year 4 took its first field trip on Tuesday, October 31st 2011. They visited the Planetarium. The Planetarium instructor projected images of the sky onto the ceiling dome. Pupils were fascinated by the planets and their rotation and revolution around the sun, the many stars, phases of the moon and the constellations. They learned that the sun is a huge ball of hot gases and that moon sighting is important to determine Ramadan dates.
Pupils had a fun experience looking at the “night sky” and getting the feeling of moving around the room. It was a unique educational experience. |
