Kuwait National English School is a private co-educational non-profit making organisation offering classes from KG up to entrance to university, with IGCSE and A/S
and A level.
KNES is recognised by the Kuwait Ministry of Education and is a member of B.S.M.E,
CIS (Council for International Schools) and N.E.A.S.C (New England
Association of Schools & Colleges).
KNES is also recognised and registered with UCLES (University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate) as a center of examinations. It has been selected by the University of Cambridge to be a pilot school for students at the age of 14 for pre-IGCSE in English, Maths and Science (Core Subjects). A/S and A level are taken through the board of the University of London to which our school is also registered and accredited.
KNES takes pride in being the only British school in Kuwait to be a member of Associated Schools Project UNESCO.
Originally the school was located in Surra, a residential area, then moved in June 1995 to new and larger premises with excellent facilities ( Facilities ) centrally located in Hawally. Her Britannic Majesty's Ambassador to Kuwait, His Excellency Mr. William H. Fullerton officially opened the premises on the 10th June, 1995.
The School theater was named after Al Farabi theater to pay homage to the famous scientist, philosopher, writer, poet of the 10th century Arab World.
The School had the privilege to be visited at the end of May 1998 by Mr. Symonides, Director of the Division of Human Rights, Democracy and Peace UNESCO Paris, while we are teaching Human Rights within the school as 1995-2004 is United Nations world decade for human rights Education. On this occasion KNES celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on 24th May, 1998. This will be a date in the school's history
