The winning students pictured above with Madame Chantal Al Gharabally, Director
The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research organised for the first time a competition on the E Government which was sent to all schools and Kuwait University. The sixth formers from Kuwait National English School consisting of the Head Boy, Abbas Tuli and the school prefects, Hassan Elmi, Cenan Beshiri, Bio Dambo, Salah Hanbali, Rami Al-Soufi, Ali Al Duwailah, Mohammad Murad and Abdullah Al Humaidy worked hard to produce together a quality abstract, which was sent to KISR. This abstract was chosen and consequently, a presentation based on the abstract had to be prepared. On the 24th of December, an e-government conference was held at the Sheraton Hotel, aiming to give a first hand awarness of e-governement in Kuwait. The team members attended the conference on that particular day, the winners of the best abstracts were announced. Abdullah Al-Humaidy gave the presentation on behalf of the team. The KNES sixth formers were delighted to be given first prize in the event. As they came out of the event they said to themselves "that event sure was worthwhile after all the hardwork". Some expressed willingness to take part in similar sorts of new awareness conferences and competitions in the future. Each member was given a financial prize. Each member of the winning team from the sixth form of Kuwait National English School would like to convey their gratitude and appreciation to the KISR for organising such an event, to their School Director, Madame Chantal Al Gharabally for her enthusiasm on such a project and for encouraging them to take part in such a competition and their teachers for their guidance.
