This spring our students from KS1 & KS2 were challenged to a Spring Creative Writing Competition. The children were given some prompts which led to some very well written and imaginative stories. The children are between the ages of 6 and 9 years old.

How to write the story:

You get to write your very own time travel adventure story!

Include at least one main character, who can travel to any time and place in either the past or the future. You also choose their means of travel. Do they have a magic key or a time travelling flying car? Are they going to visit the Vikings or dinosaurs? It is completely up to you.

Studies show that children who practice creative writing are likely to be better in subjects like science, math and languages. When children challenge themselves to think and write creatively, they become good at problem-solving, confident and disciplined – all are essential skills to succeed in all areas of life.
