End of Year Letter from the Assistant School Director
Dear KNES Parents and Students
Introduction: As the end of term one approaches, I would like to thank
you all for your continuous support throughout this very busy first term.
First term Activities
and Events:
It has been rewarding to meet you all again during our
parental conference in October. We hosted a variety of events/activities - Entrepreneurial Master Class (EMC), Innovation camp, Halloween, Profession Day for our
students, KNES Community watching the FIFA World cup 2022 in the school theatre.
We organised some Educational and interactive trips to the Kuwaiti Danish Dairy Company KCSC
(KDD), International Book Fair, National Geography Ultimate
Explorer, Kuwait Oil
Company (KOC) and English Literature library. Our
KNES community visited the British Embassy on three different occasions: Paying our last respects to Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, Remembrance
Day presentation and ‘Reach for
the Sky’ dinner with the Red Arrows. Our
students were welcomed by Her Britannic Majesty’s Ambassador
to Kuwait, Mrs. Belinda Lewis at the Embassy. Our graduating
students went for some Job shadows at the Gulf Bank, and RSM “Owning our future”. Please be sure to
check the school calendar on the back of this letter and on our website.
Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award.
Kuwait National English
School was proud to announce that one of our
students, Hurriyyatus, received an Outstanding
Cambridge Learner Award. Huriyyatus has been identified by Cambridge
Assessment International Education (CAIE, UK) as one of the best performing
learners in Kuwait in the IGCSE
May/June 2022 examination session and has been awarded the Outstanding
Cambridge Learner Award. Our sincere congratulations to Huriyyatus for her hard work
and commitment.
United Kingdom
Mathematics Challenge 2022/2023: (February 01, 2023 & April 26, 2023)
Kuwait National
English School students will be participating in the annual United Kingdom
Mathematics Challenge 2022/2023 organised by the University of Leeds.
Intermediate
Mathematics Challenge (Year 10, 11 & 12) is scheduled on February 01, 2023
Junior Mathematics
Challenge (Year 7, 8 and 9) will take place on April 26, 2023.
Kuwait National English School First Term Secondary
Examination (December 2022):
The
First Term Examination for the secondary department started on December 04,
2022 and will ended on December 13, 2022. Results will be sent to
parents/students on Thursday January 12, 2023.
External Examinations from the United
Kingdom (Cambridge/Edexcel/Pearson):
Cambridge IGCSE November 2022 session: [October
17, 2022 – November 17, 2022].
Some
of our students took part in the Cambridge IGCSE November 2022 session. The
results will be released on Wednesday January 18, 2023.
Edexcel/Pearson IAS/IAL January 2023
session: [January 09,
2023 - January 23, 2023].
Presently
our hard working year 12 students are getting ready to sit some units in the
Edexcel/Pearson AS/IAS Examination in January 2023. We wish them “Good Luck”.
Conclusion: Finally, I would like to wish you all a safe and happy holiday season (December 18,
2022 until January 05, 2023) and looking forward to the students returning on
Sunday January 08, 2023 ready for registration at 7:15 am.
